Susan is the Founder and CEO of UnHerd Insight. Susan is a senior finance and digital media executive with over 25 years of experience running the global institutional investment research franchises of top tier investment banks in London, New York and Hong Kong. Susan also is an investor and entrepreneur founding a number of start-ups in the technology and digital media space. She also serves as a board member and senior advisor to leading think thanks, universities, cultural institutes, social enterprises and charities. Susan was educated at Harvard University, London Business School and University College London.
Prof. Matthew Goodwin, Senior Research Fellow, Political Risk
Matthew Goodwin is an academic, bestseller writer and speaker known for his work on political volatility, risk, populism, British politics, Europe, elections and Brexit. Professor Goodwin has advised financial institutions around the world on political risk. During the spring of 2016, he went against Groupthink and advised clients that Britain was about to vote for Brexit. The Telegraph newspaper recently described him as "one of the few academics to be vindicated by the political trends of the past few years. He has consulted more than 300 organizations around the globe, from the UK Prime Minister's Office to the President of Germany, U.S. State Department, European Commission, Deutsche Bank, UBS, JP Morgan, Rothschild and Cie, Trilateral Commission, Goldman Sachs and Clifford Chance. Matthew regularly interviews politicians, activists and campaigners from across the spectrum and appears regularly in international media himself, including BBC News, Financial Times, New York Times and Politico.
William Shawcross, Chairman
William Shawcross CVO, is a British writer and commentator and the former Chairman of the Charity Commission for England and Wales. Mr Shawcross was a Member of Council of the Disasters Emergency Committee; board member of the International Crisis Group; and a member of the UN High Commission for Refugees’s Informal Advisory Group. His previous books include the official biography of the Queen Mother and Justice and the Enemy: Nuremberg, 9/11, and the Trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
Sebastian Giraud, COO
Sebastian is the COO of UnHerd Insight. He was previously the Chief Digital Officer at a number of digital publications and has co-founded a number of companies in various industries.
Sam Olsen, Head of Asia Pacific
Sam is the Head of APAC at UnHerd Insight. He is a seasoned expert on the politics and business of Asia, where he has lived for the past decade. An award-winning entrepreneur with deep experience of assisting Western companies to expand into Asia, he has also contributed to UK Government policy on foreign and trade affairs, and was a campaign manager for Prime Minister Theresa May. Before that he served as a British Army intelligence officer in Iraq and Kosovo and is a graduate of Oxford University.
